Administrative Staff

School Age Program Staff

We are currently accepting resumes from applicants who enjoy working with children and who are looking for part-time work from September to June.

Pay Rate:

Hourly rates for School Age Staff start at over $15.00 per hour.

Duration:

2.5 to 3 hours per day, Monday - Friday, and Relief Positions (minimum 3 days per week)

Job Summary:

PLASP school age employees provide a variety of recreational activities daily, including arts, crafts, indoor and outdoor games. A healthy breakfast and nutritious afternoon snacks are provided for the children daily. PLASP programs provide enriching environments for children Monday through Friday, before school from 7:30am until school begins, and after school from school dismissal until 6:00pm Our School Age Program staff enjoy having their summers, March Break and Christmas holidays off.

Preferred Skills:

  • Positive and sensitive attitude towards children and staff
  • A valid driver’s license (required for most positions) and daily access to a vehicle
  • Physically able to participate with children in the gym and outdoors
  • Proven leadership and organizational abilities
  • Supervisory experience required for Program Director position
  • A vulnerable sector criminal reference check, dated within the last 6 months

Full Day Kindergarten Program Staff

We are currently accepting resumes from ECE applicants who enjoy working with 4 & 5 year old children and who are looking for part-time work from September to June.

Pay Rate:

Hourly rates for School Age staff start at over $15.00 per hour

Duration:

3.5 hours per day, Monday - Friday

Job Summary: 

PLASP pemployees plan, develop, and implement a program of stimulating activities for 4 & 5 year old children which will promote their physical, social, emotional and intellectual well‑being. A variety of recreational activities are scheduled daily, including arts, crafts, indoor and outdoor games. A healthy breakfast and nutritious afternoon snacks are provided daily. PLASP programs provide enriching environments for children, Monday through Friday, before school from 7:30am until school begins, and after school from school dismissal until 6:00pm. Our School Age Program staff enjoy having their summers, March Break and Christmas holidays off.

Preferred Skills:

  • R.E.C.E. 
  • 2 years of post-graduate work experience
  • Knowledge of the High/Scope curriculum an asset
  • A vulnerable sector criminal reference check, dated within the last 6 months

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills

Special Needs Support Staff

We are currently accepting resumes from applicants who enjoy working with children who have special needs and are looking for part-time work from September to June.

Pay Rate:

Hourly rates for Special Needs Support Staff start at over $15.00 per hour.

Duration:

2.5-3 hours per day, Monday – Friday.

PLASP’s Special Need Support Staff work with children on an individual basis to assist them in managing their behaviour and promoting their self-esteem while gaining acceptance from their peers. Special Needs Staff visit programs and work with children and staff where children require support to be integrated into the program. PLASP programs provide enriching environments for children, Monday through Friday, before school from 7:30 a.m. until school begins, and after school from school dismissal until 6 p.m.  PLASP offers an extensive training program with excellent hourly rates and benefits. Our Special Needs Support Staff enjoy having their summers, March Break and Christmas holidays off.

Early Learning and Child Care Program Staff

We are currently accepting resumes from experienced ECEs.

Duration:

Monday – Friday (Part-time or Full-time.)

Job Summary:

PLASP operates 20 Early Learning and Child Care Centres throughout Mississauga and Brampton. The curriculum for these centres is based on the High Scope approach. The High Scope approach is based on long term research that shows children learn best from active learning experiences which they plan and carry out themselves. Three of our centres educate and care for children as young as 18 months while the remaining centres care for children from 2.5 to 5 years of age. 

Preferred Skills:

  • R.E.C.E
  • Most positions require 5+ years of experience
  • A vulnerable sector criminal reference check, dated within the last 6 months
  • High/Scope experience and/or knowledge is required for most positions
  • Physically able to participate with children in the centres and outdoors
  • Proven leadership and organizational abilities
  • Positive and sensitive attitude towards children and staff
  • Supervisory experience required for Program Director position
