•Age-specific programming for children in kindergarten
•Before and/or after school programs located in your child's school

PLASP staff operating our Full Day Kindergarten sites are RECEs (Registered Early Childhood Educators) and understand the needs of young children. They take the time to listen and play, providing a balanced program that supports and encourages children. All staff are also required to possess a valid First Aid Certificate and are required to successfully our complete training program in addition to passing a criminal reference check. Required training includes Positive Caregiving for Children, Setting the Stage for Successful Behaviour for School Age Children, Health and Safety Essentials, and WHMIS and Food Safety
Before School Program
The Before School Program operates from 7:30am and continues until school begins. Children participate in social activities and enjoy a healthy breakfast, served daily.
Ratio: 1 staff to 10 children.
After School Programs
The After School Programs begin at school dismissal and continues until 6:00p.m. Children are greeted by the same staff each day, which allows a sense of stability and familiarity to develop. Program staff have prepared, in advance, fun and stimulating activities for the children to enjoy. In addition to active play, children have the opportunity to socialize with their friends. Special events are planned on a regular basis, including enrichment opportunities. A substantial snack is served every day prior to 4:30pm. A typical snack includes whole grain crackers with cheese, yogurt, apple slices and milk or juice.
Ratio: 1 staff to 10 children.
