PLASP Opens 22nd Early Learning and Child Care Centre at St. Raphael CS in Malton
For Immediate Release
October 16, 2015
Mississauga, ON – PLASP is pleased to announce the opening of its 22nd Early Learning and Child Care Centre, located at St. Raphael CS in Missississauga.
“PLASP continues to respond to the needs of families in the communities we serve,” said Lynn Hiebert, PLASP CEO. “We are proud to continue our partnership with the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School and work together to provide an Early Learning and Child Care Centre in the Malton neighborhood.”
The curriculum for all PLASP centres including the new centre at St. Raphael, is based on the the HighScope® approach, where children develop important skills including language, pre-math and pre-reading skills. The development of this approach is based on long-term research that shows children learn best from active-learning experiences that they plan and carry out under the guidance of adult supervision. The daily routine at PLASP centres is designed to allow time for the children to explore and learn independently and for the adults to plan structured teaching time.
“A baby’s brain develops more in the first two years of life than at any time,” added Lynn. “Our program staff, supported by a team of PLASP early years experts, help make the most of these early experiences, in collaboration with families as the child’s first and most important teacher.”
The new Early Learning and Child Care Centre at St. Raphael CS is accepting children ages 18 months to 5 years, and offers full and part time spaces. Families can register online at plasp.com or contact the centre directly for more information:
