PLASP Wraps-up the Year with Holiday Craft Creativity!

This year, for the second year in a row, PLASP programs, centres and EarlyON centres were invited to submit photos for PLASP’s Annual Holiday Craft Contest, showcasing the decorations created together by children and staff.

PLASP Head Office received many photo submissions and were thrilled to see everyone’s creativity! Programs and centres were encouraged to decorate for a variety of holidays that take place during, or close to, winter break. Several locations saw it as an opportunity to learn about different cultural celebrations.

Here are some of the festivities which staff and children created decorations for:

Hanukkah: Sunday, November 28 – Monday, December 6

Bodhi Day: Wednesday, December 8

Yalda Night: Monday, December 20/Tuesday, December 21

Winter Solstice/first day of winter: Tuesday, December 21

Christmas: Saturday, December 25

Kwanzaa: Sunday, December 26 – Saturday, January 1

New Years Day: Saturday, January 1

Thank you to all those who participated and a big congratulations to our five winners who received a pizza party prior to winter break as a reward for their efforts!

Winning programs are:

David Hornell P.S. kindergarten-age program

St Edith Stein C.S. Early Learning and Child Care Centre

Our Lady of Fatima C.S. school-age Program

Huntington Ridge P.S. kindergarten-age program

Jefferson P.S. school-age program

PLASP will continue to post images of program and centre crafts on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages leading up to the holidays so that staff, families and children may see and enjoy each other’s work.
