WE ARE PLASP

A Local Non-Profit, Trusted for Generations

Since 1975, PLASP has been part of the community, offering families affordable, high-quality child care that’s close to home.

As a charitable organization operating as a not-for-profit, we put children first. By reinvesting in our programs and people, we ensure families have the support of qualified educators, safe spaces, and opportunities that help every child grow and thrive.

It also helps that our programs are Ministry of Education-approved, and they’re a ton of fun!

WHY PLASP

50 Years of Care

For over 50 years, PLASP has been the go-to choice for families looking for reliable, high-quality child care.

We serve 11,000+ children (and their families) each year across Peel Region and Toronto.

We operate over 35 Early Learning and Child care Centres, more than 230 Before and After School programs for both Kindergarten and School Age children, plus six EarlyON Centres that offer free programs for caregivers and children up to age six.

Families count on us for programs that mix safety, play, and learning in a way that makes every day meaningful.

WHY PLASP

Quality Care Families Can Count On

Families choose PLASP for our learning-based programs, caring staff, and convenient locations.

And it shows. 93% of parents say they’re satisfied with the care their children receive.

Our programs are fully licensed, meeting and often exceeding Ministry requirements for safety and quality. Our educators are qualified professionals who specialize in early childhood care and receive ongoing training that reflects the highest standards.

PLASP also participates in initiatives such as Raising the Bar in Peel and the Assessment for Quality Improvement in Toronto, further strengthening the quality of our child care programs.

For families, that means more than high-quality child care. It’s the reassurance that their children are supported, safe, and thriving every day.

WHY PLASP

Voted the Best Child Care provider for 20+ years.

For more than 20 years in a row, PLASP has been recognized as the Best Child Care provider by the readers of the Mississauga News.

We’ve also been honoured to win Brampton Guardian and Toronto Star Readers’ Choice Awards.

With an overall parent satisfaction rate of 93%, the results are clear: PLASP is the #1 choice for parents seeking flexible, safe, and affordable child care for children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age.

THE PLASP DIFFERENCE

Why Families Choose PLASP

Having cared for over one hundred thousand children in over 50 years, it’s easy to understand why PLASP is one of the most trusted names in child care.

Families tell us they value our qualified educators, affordable rates, and convenient locations, along with the reassurance that every program meets the highest standards of care.

WHY PLASP

Our Qualified Staff

PLASP educators are more than just qualified. They’re dedicated professionals who bring skill and care to every program. In our Early Learning and Child Care Centres, you’ll find Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) leading the way. In our Kindergarten and School Age programs, educators include RECEs as well as Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT), Child and Youth Workers (CYW), and Child and Youth Care Practitioners (CYC).

Every educator completes a clear criminal reference check, holds valid First Aid and CPR certification, and takes part in specialized training, including Positive Caregiving for Children and Setting the Stage for Successful Behaviour. It all adds up to a team that families can count on to keep children safe, supported, and thriving.

WHY PLASP

Competitive Rates

At PLASP, families never have to choose between quality and affordability. As a non-profit charitable organization, we keep child care accessible by reviewing parent fees annually through our Board of Directors. We also participate in the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care System, which will reduce fees for children five and under to an average of $10 per day by the end of 2027. Fees include all the essentials like supervision, meals, crafts, games, and special events, so there are no hidden costs. It’s one more way we provide high-quality child care that families can trust.
