At PLASP we are celebrating our 50th anniversary by hosting spring events in each of our 238 locations across The Region of Peel and City of Toronto!

Families are invited to join their child’s program for their specific event date. Some of our celebrations will have local dignitaries to honor the occasion. PLASP educators are organizing a variety of family-friendly activities to celebrate this milestone at PLASP including games, activities, concerts and more!

Refreshments will be provided by our platinum event sponsors, Pizza Pizza and Voilà.

Here are a few quick facts about PLASP as we celebrate 50 years of service!

How PLASP started:

  • PLASP originated when a local group of women came together who identified a need in the community for a lunch and after school program in schools across Peel in the early seventies.
  • “PLASP” is an acronym for the past lunch and after school model – Peel Lunch and After School Program.

PLASP “firsts”:

  • PLASP opened its first EarlyON centre in 2018.
  • PLASP opened its first three locations in 1975 at Floradale Public School and Lakeview Beach Public School in Mississauga, and Hanover Public School in Brampton.
  • PLASP opened its first child care centre in 1988.
  • PLASP expanded into Toronto in 1997.

Families will be invited to the event at their child’s location from PLASP program educators. We look forward to celebrating this exciting milestone with you!
