ABOUT

A Bright Start to The School Day

As a busy parent or caregiver, there are a hundred little things that can make or break your morning routine. While you can’t always count on your children being ready on time or traffic not slowing you down, our Before School Programs are one thing you can count on.

Open at 7:30 a.m. each school day and conveniently located inside your child’s school, our programs mean that the moment you drop them off, you know they’re safe and cared for, and you can get on with your day.

Once inside, your child is welcomed by caring educators trained to provide high-quality care. Their mornings include a healthy breakfast, quiet activities, and outdoor play. Of course, our trained educators are present at all times, ensuring they’re engaged and safe.

BEFORE THE BELL

Why Children Love Our Program

From play-based learning activities to breakfast to outdoor time, our Before School Program keeps children fueled, active, and ready to start the day.

Partnering with a nutritionist, we developed our menus to follow Canada’s Food Guide.

Children in the Before School Program enjoy a healthy breakfast every day, with choices like cereal, fruit, milk, and/or yogurt.

After children arrive, they will have plenty of time for quiet activities and to review schoolwork.

Heading outside before class allows children to stay active, enjoy the fresh air, and spend time with friends.

OUR HANDPICKED STAFF

Compassionate, Highly-Trained Educators

At PLASP, your child is cared for by compassionate, qualified staff who take the time to listen, play, and create a balanced program that supports and encourages their development.

All educators hold a valid Standard First Aid Certificate with Level C CPR and must successfully complete additional specialized PLASP training.

Every staff member must also pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check, ensuring the highest level of safety for the children in our care.

Depending on the program, our educators may be Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs), Ontario Certified Teachers (OCTs), professionals with Child and Youth Worker (CYW) or Child and Youth Care Practitioner (CYC) designations. This range of expertise ensures children of all ages, Kindergarten through Grade 6, receive the right support for their stage of development.

Our Standards

AFFORDABLE CHILD CARE

High-Quality Care at Competitive Fees

We are PLASP, a not-for-profit, charitable organization that puts children first.

We work incredibly hard to offer child care services at affordable and competitive rates, without cutting corners.

Depending on the age of your child, our programs also qualify for the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system and you may qualify for regional subsidies, both of which help families reduce the cost of child care.

It all adds up to exceptional child care that balances quality and value, giving your family the support you need at a price that works.
