ABOUT

Fun Before and After the Bell

Just imagine the number of games played, books read, snacks served, and laughs shared between friends each day in our before and after school programs.

Because when you give a group of first to sixth graders the freedom to choose activities that match their interests, all under the supervision and guidance of our caring, highly trained educators, you know they’re going to have a blast.

After all, we’ve been at this for more than 50 years and cared for over one hundred thousand children, so let’s just say, we have a bit of experience.

About PLASP

OUR HANDPICKED STAFF

Caring for Children, Supporting Parents

Your child deserves the very best. And that’s why they are cared for by compassionate, qualified staff who take the time to listen, play, and create a balanced program that supports and encourages their development.

Our Kindergarten Programs are all staffed by RECEs (Registered Early Childhood Educators) who understand the needs of young children and will provide the right support for their stage of development.

All staff hold a valid Standard First Aid Certificate with Level C CPR and complete a specialized training program which includes: WHMIS, Food Safety, Health and Safety Essentials, Administration of Medication, and Self-Esteem Orientation.

Staff must also pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check, which is an enhanced background check for individuals in positions of trust or authority over vulnerable persons in Canada.

MAKING HEALTHY CHOICES

Nutritious Meals and Snacks

Partnering with a nutritionist, we developed our menus to follow Canada’s Food Guide.

In our Before School Programs, children enjoy a healthy breakfast that allows them to choose from options like cereal, fruit, milk, and yogurt.

In our After School Programs, children are offered a nutritious afternoon snack with options like whole wheat crackers and a salad bar that may include romaine lettuce, chickpeas, pickles, parmesan cheese, and dressing.

For Break and P.A. Day Programs, children are served a nutritious breakfast, an afternoon snack, and, depending on the program, a pizza lunch.

AFFORDABLE CHILD CARE

High-Quality Care at Competitive Fees

We are PLASP, a not-for-profit, charitable organization that puts children first.

We work incredibly hard to offer child care services at affordable and competitive rates, without cutting corners.

Depending on the age of your child, our programs also qualify for the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system and you may qualify for regional subsidies, both of which help families reduce the cost of child care.

It all adds up to exceptional child care that balances quality and value, giving your family the support you need at a price that works.
