How PLASP Helps Protect Your Information
Protecting your information is a shared responsibility between PLASP and you. We place the highest priority on maintaining the security and privacy of your data and have implemented robust information security measures.
For example:
- PLASP uses secure firewalls and intrusion detection systems to monitor your information.
- We engage industry-leading security professionals to routinely audit and test our systems for vulnerabilities and risks.
- All data transmitted between our servers and your devices is protected through secure, encrypted connections.
Despite these safeguards, no system is entirely immune to risk. A possibility of data loss or unauthorized access may still exist. PLASP Child Care Services shall not be liable for any damages resulting from data loss, unauthorized use or disclosure by third parties, or damage to your electronic devices.
What You Can Do to Protect Your Information
- Avoid logging into your parent account on public Wi-Fi networks or using public computers.
- Do not save your password on devices or computers that are not your own, and always log out after each session.
- Keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.
- Regularly update your browser to benefit from the latest security features.
- Use up-to-date antivirus and anti-malware software to protect your computer, mobile device, or tablet.
How to Spot a Phishing Email
Phishing emails may look like they come from PLASP, but they are designed to trick you into revealing personal information. Watch out for messages that:
- Create a sense of urgency or pressure you to act quickly.
- Ask you to click on unfamiliar links or download unexpected attachments.
- Request sensitive information such as passwords or account details.
- Use generic greetings like “Dear user” or contain spelling errors in the sender’s address.
- If an email seems suspicious—even if it appears to be from PLASP—do not click any links or open attachments.
In Case Your Account Is Compromised or You Lose Your Device
You are responsible for all activities under your account. If your device is lost or you suspect your PLASP account has been compromised, immediately log into the PLASP web portal and change your password. If you are unable to do so, contact our Support Services Centre at 647-484-4372 or toll-free at 1-888-739-4102.
To ensure optimal performance, use an up-to-date browser such as Chrome, Edge, or Safari with default font settings. Regularly update your system and install antivirus and malware protection.
