What’s Included in the Program?

During the school year, school-age children will participate in activities that feature outdoor play and nature-based activities, and activities themed around science, art, construction, design, and discovery on school property on P.A. Days. Breakfast, pizza lunch, and afternoon snacks are included.

The P.A. Day Program begins at 7:30 a.m., with children arriving no later than 8:30 a.m., and operates until 6:00 p.m. Children are picked up and dropped off at their school.

School Age P.A. Days Program in Toronto

School Age children who participate in one or more of PLASP’s full-time programs are automatically registered for our Professional Activity (P.A.) Day Program.  

P.A. Days operate out of every PLASP Toronto school location.

Please note: In Toronto, the P.A. Day Program is automatically added to your child’s care package and is available at every location. More information on fees can be found here.

Inclement Weather and School Closures

  • If schools are closed, PLASP will not operate the P.A. Day Program.
  • If schools are open, PLASP will operate the P.A. Day Program on-site. Children will be able to attend the P.A. Day Program from 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the school.

How to Register

There is no need for you to register your child for the P.A. Day Program.

As a Toronto resident, when you sign up for a Before and/or After School program, your child will be automatically enrolled in PLASP’s P.A. Day programs.

In Toronto, all participants in a PLASP Before and/or After School Program are automatically enrolled in P.A. Day Programs as a requirement.

There are no extra costs; everything your child needs for the day is included in the price

The staff-to-child ratio for school-age children off-site is 1 to 12. When the program remains on school property, the staff-to-child ratio changes to 1 to 15.

If the school is open, PLASP will operate the P.A. Day Program on-site. Children will be able to attend the P.A. Day Program from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the school. If the school is closed, PLASP will not operate the P.A. Day Program. Parents will receive a phone call from program staff by 7 a.m. to notify them of the closure.
