As a child care operator in the City of Toronto, and working in partnership with Toronto Children’s Services, our collective goal is to provide seamless, continuous access to care at your child’s school. Starting in September 2025, children registered in PLASP before and/or after school programs in Toronto will also have full day care on P.A. Days and during the Winter Break and Spring Break programs.
Please note child care programs will not be available on statutory holidays.
Engaging, inclusive, award-winning. PLASP programs are a safe place – where children thrive and want to be!
Our programs, located in your school, are designed to provide the safest possible before and after school experience and:
-
Meet the high standards for licensing by the Ministry of Education
-
Employ Registered Early Childhood Educators who connect well with children and families
-
Offer discounted rates for children under age 6 through the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system
-
Achieve 95% parent satisfaction, and
-
Accept fee subsidies from the Region of Peel and City of Toronto.
Before School programs begin at 7:30 a.m. when your child receives a nutritious snack and participates in hands-on, active learning activities. After School programs begin at school dismissal and provide your child with play-based, fun and stimulating activities while socializing with their friends. Outdoor time is provided daily. When you sign up for a before and/or after school program, your child will be automatically enrolled in the following PLASP programs during the school year (Winter and Spring Break programs and P.A. Days - excluding Summer Break Programs).
Registration for the 2025-2026 school year will take place online through our parent web portal.
New families
Please register online starting on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. To find a program or centre near you, use the “search for care” box on the right side of our home page. PLASP will begin to notify parents of their child’s registration status for the 2025/2026 school year in June. (All other registration requests will be processed according to their submission date).
Current families
Current families registered for PLASP programs can login to their existing profile on Wednesday, January 29 2025 to add programs. The last day for current families to update their child care needs for the 2025/2026 school year to maintain their registration priority is Tuesday, February 18.
Further information has been sent to current families on steps to ensuring you maintain your space for the coming year. Your current programs will remain the same.
Your child will be automatically enrolled in the following PLASP programs during the school year (Winter and Spring Break programs and P.A. Days - excluding Summer Break Programs).
Please note: if you do not cancel your child’s registration for the new school year, they will be automatically registered for the 2025/2026 school year and your account will be charged.
Required Consent
As there is a change to our program offering in Toronto, ALL families in Toronto are required to login to your family profile between January 29 and February 18 (even if you are not making changes to your registration) and review and consent to the following:
-
By registering your child in a before and/or after school program, you agree that your child will also be registered in PLASP’s P.A. Days, Winter Break and Spring Break programs.
-
You agree to pay all applicable fees, charged to your account, for P.A. Days, Winter Break and Spring Break programs.
All full day fees for non-instructional days will be charged to the priority one (P1) parent. Adding an additional payer for the non-instructional days can be done via the PLASP parent portal. Adding a payer can be done once you receive confirmation the non-instructional days have been added.
PLASP can only confirm programs once the consent is provided. Families that do not review and provide consent cannot be confirmed for the 2025/2026 school year.
To ensure the status and priority of your child’s registration is maintained for the 2025/2026 school year, your consent is required by February 18, 2025.
Needs Assessment
Twice a year, prior to the winter break and the spring break, PLASP will conduct a needs assessment at each location to determine whether there is need for care during these non-instructional periods. Where there is demand for care, service will continue during these periods. Given that the program will be open and operational, and families will have access to care, families at that location will be charged full-day fees for the duration for the program. If the responses collected from the needs assessment determine that there isn’t a demand for programming at the location during the Winter Break and/or Spring Break programs, PLASP will not offer service, the program will be closed and parents will not have to pay fees for that week. If the program is closed, PLASP will advise families in advance so that those who need care can make alternate arrangements. Pending space availability, PLASP will offer families care at an operating, alternate location and families will be required to pay the full-day fee for the duration of the program.
Please note that all locations will be open and operational on all P.A. Days and families will be charged the non-instructional, full-day fee for these days.
We will start processing requests for the 2025/2026 school year after March 12, 2025. We ask for your patience during the processing period. For 2025/2026 registrations submitted before March 12, 2025, we will email you the status of your request in June 2025. Any changes to this date will be sent via email, so please keep the mail address you have on file with PLASP up to date.
Please note: Children confirmed in a Before School program only are not automatically registered in P.A. Days, Winter Break and Spring Break programs. The full day fee will only be charged should your child has a confirmed space in the non-instructional day program.
