30th Annual Volunteer & Student on Placement Event at the Mississauga Convention Centre
PLASP’s 30th Annual Volunteer and Student on Placement Recognition Event, “Cirque d’Inspiration – A Night of Stars,” was a great success with more than 1,100 guests taking part in the celebration at the Mississauga Convention Centre.
Guests were greeted by stilt walkers, comical characters, jugglers, an organ grinder, and a unicyclist who entertained and helped to create the sights and sounds of a circus. Prior to the recognition presentations volunteers and students had an opportunity to try their hand at juggling and hula hooping, while enjoying popcorn and circus foods.
The presentations began with Madieson McNeil Alexander, former PLASP volunteer, singing O Canada. Artists from Zero Gravity Circus mesmerized the audience with outstanding acts, including an acro contortion hula hoop artist, a feature juggler and a Rola Bola balancing act.
Throughout the evening PLASP recognized the contributions of the PLASP Board of Directors and Committee Members, more than 800 volunteers, and 200 students on placement by presenting them with pins and certificates.
