PLASP Bids Farewell to Volunteer Coordinator Holly Mackison after 12 Years of Service

This summer, PLASP said goodbye to Coordinator of Volunteer Services Holly Mackison.
For Holly, her experience with PLASP has been through much of her adult life. She volunteered with PLASP during high school, as well as her placement as a student while doing her Volunteer Management course at Humber College. This year, Holly would have been recognized for 12 years of service at PLASP’s annual Staff Recognition Day.
Holly’s departure from PLASP is the result of a big move for her family to Montreal. Her husband, Steven, accepted a transfer as a priest to St. George's Anglican Church in downtown Montreal.
For Manager of Volunteer Services Sharon Flood, the impact that Holly has had at PLASP and on the lives of countless volunteers and students on placement is invaluable.
“Holly was always very committed to ensuring each volunteer received the best orientation possible – so that their experience as a PLASP volunteer was a positive one,” says Sharon. “We would see Holly returning from visiting volunteers and students on placement in the PLASP program – and it was so obvious how fulfilled she was by witnessing their valuable contributions to PLASP.”
Holly is looking forward to getting settled in Montreal. She’s not sure yet what her plans are but says, “I'll have to see. I have always been passionate about working with seniors so I might head in that direction. And learning French is high on the priority list!”
While sad to see Holly go, PLASP is very excited to welcome her successor. Lisa McGregor comes to PLASP with a wealth of experience, including 8 years at a large not-for-profit organization, and 4 years as a Human Resources Advisor. Lisa also holds a MSc in Human Resources Management from South Bank University in London, England. A PLASP mother of two small children, Lisa is very excited to join the volunteer department at PLASP.
“Lisa has her Masters in Human Resources and wrote her thesis on invisible stigma,” says Sharon. “Her knowledge and experience in this area is extremely transferable to an organization like PLASP that prioritizes inclusion amongst our families and programs. Our team is very much looking forward to Lisa’s fresh perspective.”

Please join us in welcoming Lisa and wishing Holly and her family all the best in Montreal. As they say in French, bonne chance, Holly!!
