PLASP recognizes 40 years of high-quality service with celebrations in more than 200 schools
On Thursday, June 2, PLASP Child Care Services celebrated their 40th Anniversary by hosting family celebrations in more than 200 schools across Peel and Toronto.
Families, community partners, local politicians and media joined PLASP staff and children to celebrate and showcase the quality service and care that has earned PLASP its award-winning reputation since opening their doors in 1975.
“We were thrilled to collaborate with more than 1,200 staff to plan these events for PLASP families and friends on Thursday” says Lynn Hiebert, PLASP CEO. “It was a great opportunity to witness the play-based and child-led activities occurring in our programs every day and to see all the efforts of our staff and children unfolding on social media. We could not be at all 200 locations but because of staff, parents and guests sharing their photos online, we felt a part of every single celebration.”

PLASP was thrilled to welcome numerous city councillors, trustees, superintendents and representatives from the school boards we partner with, including the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, the Peel District School Board, the Toronto Catholic District School Board and the Toronto District School Board. “We heard so many wonderful stories from parents, councillors and trustees telling us about their experience with PLASP,” said Lynn. “Many of them had their children in PLASP 30 years ago, or were PLASP children themselves 20 years ago. We are truly a family organization, with a long history of caring for children in our communities. We’re very proud to serve our community with high-quality, licensed, award-winning child care and are looking forward to the next 40 years!”
