At PLASP’s Staff Recognition Event on September 1, 2016, Frank Andreacchi, Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis reported on the projected growth for PLASP for the 2016-2017 school year, sharing with staff that the number of children cared for by PLASP programs across Peel and Toronto is targeted to reach 16,300.

“PLASP is currently implementing phase 2 of the regulations from the Child Care and Early Years Act, which focuses on school aged children having access to safe, well-managed before and after school care that is licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Education,” said Lynn Hiebert, PLASP CEO. “We are aware that more than ever it’s crucial for families to have access to care that puts the health and well-being of children first. We are committed to providing that level of care to families and are thrilled to open programs at two additional schools in Brampton and Toronto.”

Registration is now open for the new programs at St. Alphonsa CS (60 Olivia Marie Rd. Brampton) and St. Conrad CS (5 Exbury Rd. Toronto) and is open to kindergarten children aged 4 and 5 and school age children 6 to 12 years of age. Families can register online at plasp.com. Subsidies are available for families that are eligible.

PLASP Child Care Services is a not-for-profit award-winning organization that started in 1975 with three locations in the Region of Peel. Today, PLASP has grown into one of Canada’s largest licensed child care providers with 221 locations, offering more than 1,400 programs to families in Brampton, Caledon, Mississauga, Scarborough and Toronto.
