Kindergarten Registration for New Families

Will your child be starting kindergarten in September 2019?

If so, PLASP is pleased to offer affordable, high quality, licensed before and after school programs and P.A. Day programs for children enrolled in kindergarten. Currently, PLASP offers programs for kindergarten children in 205 schools located throughout Peel and Toronto.

Registration for PLASP’s kindergarten programs for the 2019/2020 school year for new families will begin on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. To register with PLASP, you must be planning to enroll your child in a school where PLASP programs are offered. To see if your child’s kindergarten school offers PLASP programs, please, use the “Search for Care” box on the right side of the page.

For information on registering your child at their school, please select the appropriate school board from the list below. The kindergarten registration dates for each school board is also listed. Please note that these are NOT PLASP registration dates.

PLASP kindergarten programs follow the Ministry of Education’s play-based kindergarten curriculum. Staff plan activities to facilitate learning through play, and provide a balanced program that supports and facilitates children’s optimum development.

Our goals for children, consistent with the Ministry of Education pedagogy, include the following:

  • Every child has a sense of belonging when he or she are connected to others and contributes to their world.
  • Every child is developing a sense of self, health, and well-being.
  • Every child is an active and engaged learner who explores the world with body, mind, and senses.
  • Every child is a capable communicator who expresses himself or herself in many ways.

Children’s interests are valuable to their learning and offer a rich variety of experiences. The type of activities PLASP offers include:

  • sensory/art including drama, music, dance and visual arts
  • language and listening
  • science and cognitive/manipulative
  • construction and block design
  • daily opportunities for physical activity and active outdoor play
  • rest time for children who require it, based on their developmental needs
  • opportunities for children to develop social skills and relationships

Our programs are designed to:

  • encourage children to interact and communicate in a positive way and support their ability to self-regulate
  • foster the children’s exploration, play and inquiry
  • provide child-initiated and adult-supported experiences
  • offer opportunities to create authentic lasting relationships with others in the program
