PLASP Launches Volunteer Recognition Program
Did you know that PLASP has a volunteer program where youth volunteers from local high schools can gain experience working with children in our after school programs with hours worked contributing to the 40 hours of community service needed to graduate?
Each year PLASP places more than 300 volunteers!
Did You Know…
In 2024-2025, we had 306 volunteers that contributed 9,254 hours of service, offering valuable work experience in child care and administration.
This year our Volunteer Services team is excited to launch the new PLASP Volunteer Recognition Program for 2025-2026!

This program recognizes volunteers for their dedication to their volunteer position at PLASP based on the number of hours they have completed in their role. With gifts of appreciation at the 50-hours, 100-hours, and 150-hours marks, volunteers have various levels to aspire to. We encourage volunteers to come back to their volunteer position year after year.
“We are thrilled for this recognition program to commence for PLASP’s amazing volunteers! Volunteers play a pivotal role in the lives of children at PLASP and it is such a pleasure to now have this program to provide volunteers with a token of our appreciation,” says Jennifer Lizon, Manager, Volunteer Services.

The children and educators love interacting and working with volunteers, as they enhance our programs through their support of our educators and add extra fun for the children. In turn, these students gain valuable experience working with children which can lead to future careers.
We are happy to be able to recognize our outstanding volunteers with the implementation of this new program!
Opportunities for the 2025-2026 school year are now open! Please visit our Volunteer page for information on how to sign up.
