PLASP Recognized with United Way of Peel for Mentoring at Brampton Board of Trade Business Awards

Exactly one week after PLASP Child Care Services hosted their annual Volunteer and Student on Placement Recognition Event at the Mississauga Convention Centre, they received the Mentoring Award at the Brampton Board of Trade’s Business Excellence Awards. PLASP tied with the United Way of Peel to receive this prestigious award.

“We’re proud of our organization for receiving this award, especially in light of this year being our 40th anniversary,” said Lynn Hiebert, PLASP CEO. “To share this award with the United Way of Peel is an honor, and we are proud of the work that we do along with the United Way to support families in Peel.”

At the recognition event on April 21, PLASP recognized the contributions of almost 1,500 volunteers and students on placement. At the event, special guests MPP Cristina Martins, Parliamentary Assistant to Michael Chan, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade and Regional Councillor Annette Groves from the Town of Caledon commended PLASP volunteers and students on placements for contributing more than one million hours of service over the past 40 years.
